Shipping Policies

After placing and paying for an order, we will strive to ship within the next business day. This does not include the weekend or on public holidays. On other occasion, shipping may be delayed due to extended holidays or any unforeseen circumstances. Announcements will be made on our Facebook page and Instagram.

All additional costs related to changes in your shipping method for any reasons may be charged to you. We will communicate this to you clearly via e-mail.

Canberra Hobby Centre is not responsible for anything that may happen to a package or it's contents after it was delivered to the shipping address you provided. Any use of third-parties or reshippers is at the risk of the customer's.

Shipments with No Tracking

We know that shipping can be expensive, and that customers would like to save as much money as possible by choosing an economy shipping method. However, Canberra Hobby Centre is not responsible for any loss of packages resulting from this method being chosen as the primary shipping method.

Please be mindful that international letter shipping, and economy shipping option for select international parcels cannot be tracked.


Stolen Packages / Package Theft

Once an item has been delivered to a premise, Canberra Hobby Centre is not responsible for any loss of packages due to theft, and we don't provide refunds the stolen items.
If you seriously suspect that you've been hit by a "porch pirate", please call your local police number and file a report. If you have doorbell camera footage, be sure to share it with the officers.

If you think your package has been stolen, feel free to contact us about the situation so we can raise it to Australia Post for further investigation.

Please make sure that you have a safe location for your parcels to be delivered to. Alternatively, for Australian customers, you can send it to your Parcel Locker or local GPO to collect. The added privacy is always great, and it guarantees there's plenty evidence for delivery!


Product Availability

Items placed in the Shopping Cart are not held for you. An order is not placed and fulfilled until you complete the checkout process.

 

Fraudulent Orders

Canberra Hobby Centre will automatically cancel orders that triggered a "High Risk of Fraud" warning by Shopify and any of our payment providers. We also have the right to verify if an order is fradulent by contacting the customer. Usually we would ask for a photo of their formal government ID, and proof of residency. This is because orders made with fradulent credit cards more often than not would have mismatched names, and sent to a warehouse at a different location.

We will then forward this data to the relevant authorities. TLDR: Don't use stolen credit cards, period. It's not worth the criminal sentence.

 

Payment Disputes & Chargebacks

Canberra Hobby Centre is committed to customer service and will promptly address any customer claims as details in our Terms and Conditions. We will solve all genuine customer service problems through refunds, re-shipments, discounts or whatever else it takes to reach a fair solution to the problem. But we will need to hear from YOU FIRST if a problem has occurred.

Canberra Hobby Centre will vigorously contest any Paypal, bank, or credit card disputes filed by customers who have not reached out to us first for resolution. Customers who have filed such disputes may risk being blacklisted from using our service, meaning we will accept no further orders from them.

 

Product Descriptions

We always try to be as accurate as possible on our website. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site are accurate, complete, current or error-free.

Most of our kits are shipped to Australia via freight, and sometimes, they come with slight wear and tear on the boxes! If the boxes or contents are truly beat up, we usually put them up for sale under our "Victims of the High Seas" event.

If a product offered by us is not as described, please contact us as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the nature of an item that are not addressed on our website, you are responsible for asking us before you purchase the item. If you have not done so before purchasing and the items is not what you expected, the only solution is an authorised return as described in our Shipping Policy.

We reserve the right to remove or edit content without notice.

 

Sales & Promotions

If a campaign on the Canberra Hobby Centre website has rules that differ from these Terms & Conditions, the campaign's rules will take precedence.

 

Pre-order Products

If an order has been made containing items in pre-order stage. It will not be shipped until that said product comes in stock. In a rare occasion, buyers will be notified if a cancellation has been made due to unforeseen circumstances.
